Taxis

There is no shortage of taxis. As some taxis do not use a meter it is essential to negotiate the fare prior to departure. 


 
Plane
 
The major towns can be reached via plane and plane fares are usually cheap. To get a ticket can prove more difficult.
 
Local Buses
 
Local buses drive within the towns and connect cities, towns and villages. 

Train
Only very short rail strips. Mainly used as a sightseeing attraction by tourists.

River Boat
 
Some destinations in Sarawak can only be reached by river taxi or river bus driving at high speed on the main rivers. Used by local business travellers and villagers alike. It can be difficult to reach certain destinations during the dry season.
